So I hope I'm correct that it's me that chooses the winner this time... Sorry for the delay but here I go:
I underestimated how hard it would be to choose. Every contestant has something that deserves praise here.
All the joyful designs by Firstfold are really clever and an inspiration as to what to use origami for.
Gerardo's piece I believe was the most abstract and for me interesting to keep looking at.
Baltorigamist made a really creative tesselation that I believe is even prettier backlit though. But in the end it's Grace's Sailing on sun dappled water that takes the win for me. I think it is closest to the goal set by Joao: to evoke an emotional response by the viewer. And it's a completely original work which was the final reason for me to choose it over 'the joy of origami' adaptation.
Congrats Grace, I will start a new challenge later today.

Congratulations Grace! I'm really happy for you .
I'm not sure if it's clear that I originally designed everything I presented for the challenge. I simply had designed the purple-yellow part, during January, for an online course I was taking. For the challenge, I removed the element that wasn't my design–Leyla Torres's framing connectors, which I changed for the gray-black part you can see here.

Ah ok, Gerardo. I did misunderstood that. But I also inderstand grace's design was entirely new for the challenge. Hard choice though

Congratulation Grace and all who entered this challenge -
Just for the fun here is yet another video with a new design for spinning stars. It also contains a puzzle to challenge your "Scientific Thinking"?
