ODT8: Folderp vs. Baltorigamist - Sports

I hope you don't mind the fact that I made the topic. I just wanted to get this thing moving as soon as reasonable.

For rules, I was thinking one sheet any shape; no cuts; MC okay for shaping.
Does that sound reasonable?

Yeah, those rules sound good to me. I unfortunately have little experience with sports, but I'll see what I can do :) Okay, the first round is officially underway! Submissions for this duel in by 25th of April.

Okay, sounds good. I already have an idea, so hopefully I can do it justice...

Here's my first entry, a Kashmir stag.
I decided to be fairly liberal with my definition of "Sports" and include hunting. The Kashmir stag, a species of elk native to India, has been hunted to near-extinction, hence I thought it appropriate to enter in this duel.

I may or may not have another model by the end of this round.

My second entry, a football. (I can’t embed from my phone.) https://www.flickr.com/photos/163306865 ... ed-public/

Oi! That was one of my ideas :) I have to admit I haven't been doing too much designing so far, I've got a bit caught up folding ryujin (finally). But I think I should be able to submit a decent design or two by the end of the time.

Well, I'm here with my first design. Continuing with slightly looser definitions of sport, here is a jousting knight. This would definitely have been considered a sport back in the day. :D I also can't embed from my phone so here is the link.

EDIT: Poll is up.

I'm working on finishing up another model. I'm in eastern time, so I'll try to have it in by tomorrow night (roughly 24 hours from now).

Don't worry, I just finished up my second entry. (If you want to be pedantic, I designed and folded it last night, but folded this cleaner version today). Karate Guy, designed by me:

Also, for clarity, shouldn't multiple entries be denoted by OR, not and? That way it makes it clear that they're choosing their favourite single model, not voting for multiple.

My impression was that multiple entries would be taken as a whole, not individually. I'll still edit the poll if you want, though it might wipe out any current votes.

Well, the poll has ended and it appears we have a tie. What now?

A revote or tiebreaker wouldn't rule out the same result, and I'm not sure what I would design in that case anyway. Maybe we could defer to someone impartial--the only question would be to whom. Tankoda, maybe?

Should I ask some people from the origami discord community to come vote?

Either of those suggestions could work. Depends on whether we want to keep it a voting process and bring in another community. I'm happy with either. What would you prefer Balto?

I think we should have an impartial judge. As I said, the only question is who.
