September 2020 Origami Design Challenge - Falling

The theme for September is the action of falling.

This can be a model which is designed to fall such as the models in the video below.

It could be a model that drops an item from one level to another like the paper water-wheels.

Or it could depict an item falling such as a leaf going over a waterfall.

More than one sheet of paper is allowed of any shape.
Cuts can be made.

Nepafarius will be the judge.

Good luck and Happy folding!

The last model I've uploaded on flickr was made with this exact theme in mind. Too bad I designed it in june!

I saw this on Facebook after I posted this challenge and I do have to wonder if I wasn’t subconsciously influenced. Regardless I feel this challenge has a lot of space to create something new. Maybe you can make your portal interactive?

I figured it wasn't a coincidence

What do you mean by «interactive»?

I was thinking along the lines of a magic trick. A paper lever hidden behind a black box that would raise one of your already made portals on one side as you lowered a newly folded whole figure in white on the other.

Of course if you want to break ground in science and defy gravity I fully support your efforts ;)

Falling Spiral

This is made from 4 1x8 pieces of paper using a spiral lock. It floats down in a soft spin.

I was under the impression that neither the person who made the month's topic nor the judge could compete. Was this not the case?

I know that I have submitted entries for my own challenge ‘Things that pop’ in the past, however I don’t know the final rule for this. I do wish that their had been more entries. What happens if there isn’t an entry? Do I propose another topic for October? Which you then judge?

As far as I remember we just move forward with a new topic, and instead allow everyone to vote on a winner.

Okay, I am happy with this. I disqualify my entry.
