Fold Off 2

Post by DZIGGITAI »

Since I have yet to create a Valentine-related model that I like, how about a second challenge: Valentine's Day.
I'll be working on a cupid.

I feel really bad, I couldn't even do the monkey
Maybe the heart will be easier!

There is this famous sculpture by Antonio Canova called Cupid and Psyche that I am working on. You can see the sculpture at for example:

Welcome back Ben! Your tutorial got me started on crease patterns, thanks for your work.

Looks like I'm a little late on this fold off,but someone did ask me to design a turkey holding a heart, and double as a container.

Which reminds me, I updated my site with a new section titled requests.

My cupid didn't turn out so well. I'm trying a different approach.

(Monty Python) Anyway, what about folding the French soldier on top of the castle or the three-headed knight... or the rabbit.

Did you visit my site? Maybe coincidence, anyway I've already made a prototype of one of the knights who say...Ni! ,but it needs to be taller with shorter antlers. Tim the Enchanter is next on my list although, the French Taunter would be good or maybe the Black Knight (no kirigami  ).

I'm glad to hear that my crease pattern info is helping some people out. I will add another one this weekend, and then the one after that will teach how to do Takashi Hojyo's human base. That one will take a while I think though. I made a version of my cupid that is recognizable on Valentine's, and it is on my website. or at www.stanford.edu/~ballb/origami/cupid1.html
