Post by Fishgoth »

I may be away this weekend, so I'll post the challenge today. Please put all comments in the discussion thread; this one is for photos only.

'Pure and simple' - rules for April 2007

Using either one or two squares of paper, fold a pureland pet. Pureland folding uses only mountain and valley folds There are no reverse folds, no crimping, no box-pleating, etc. You may use glue to attach the two pieces together, but not in any other way. No cutting. You may decorate the models afterwards with simple features, eg, eyes. It may be your own design, or someone elses - please credit the designer. A 'pet' may be any household domestic animal, ie, a dog or a cat. But not a cow or an elephant...

Here is an essay about pureland folding.

I'll announce the winners of the March competition after March 31st.

Jolly good luck,

Dr Stephen O'Hanlon

You can't tell, but the back looks identical. (i.e. two more legs, another set of the four flaps in the front, etc.)

Yes, these are entirely pureland. They utilize some interesting adaptations of the pureland rules. You can get some swivels, sinkish things, etc.

Very beautiful model which is made very qualitatively and simply. The photo of model is very well made and has left personally at me the most pleasant impression...

The challenge for May is ''The world of insects'', of which Daydreamer will be invited to judge at the end of May and creator to the June challenge.
Enjoy!
