Somebody at work asked me to create an origami model of the LISA spacecraft today.
There are three of them. LISA=Laser Interferometer Space Antenna. It's going to detect gravitational waves from many astrophysical sources, for example inspiraling supermassive black holes (like we get when galaxies collide), that will act like a new kind of telescope telling us about things that we can't observe optically.
Anyway I created one as a modular design modifying some units I've seen in Fuse's book to suit my purpose.
This is what I made this evening.
Anyone else want to give it a shot? It's a different design from what you usually fold.
And I bet most of you could do a better job! I rarely fold such geometric things.
Challenge-- LISA
