juston wrote:Whoops, I meant "isosceles right triangle" not "equilateral right triangle"... that would have to be some crazy, four dimensional paper. I wonder what you could fold with it?

Four dimensions wouldn't help-- a flat triangle is still restricted to the same angle sum.

However, paper with spherical curvature could make an equilateral right triangle... it's hard to find/make that sort of paper though  the best thing I've found is onion skins, but they're small and brittle so I haven't explored the concept much.

The best way to get a 90 degrees equilateral triangle would be to almost boil it.
I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.

don't be that impatiently, mario. you did not join the september challenge, so try to make things better with october - then you can call for the judge, too.

I'm quite happy for the judge to take their time.

Then I can hold onto the fantasy that I might be the winner...

That is an interesting idea-I never thought about using non-flat triangles. Goran Konjevod did something similar-check out this and this.

Keep your hair on. I can't spend all day on the computer.

As always, very very hard to decide. Many many designs I liked very much, shame I had to cut so many out.

1st place-- Kingfisher by Grizzly Man. I loved the style and clean quality of it.

2nd place-- Weevil by Vls. Excellent presentation and folding.

3rd place-- Pteranodon by Tadashimori. Nice model, it looks haunting.

I'm sorry if my judging is not to your taste at all.

Grizzly man will be the judge for the October challenge and will decide the subject for the November challenge!

The October challenge will be HUMAN FORM.

what a surprize! even if i really like that little bird i had never thought about winning the challenge with it.
thanks a lot for the honour, cephalopod!
now i'm already curious about all the new designs October challenge is going to produce. i think the topic is not that easy this time but i know there's a large potential in this forums' community ...
