well, is already december... (i will not talk so much because my english suck)
third place: topsu - Tengu, is ok next time u should make a leg =D

second place: origamimasterjared - Usagi Gami, i dont know if it realy exist in japanese culture (even my family dont know, they are japanese), but i like a lot

Sunburst is going to judge the december challenge and will find a topic for january
December challenge is: Final Fantasy (yes, the game)

Thanks! Glad you like my Usagigami. From what I can tell, there is some record of rabbit gods in Japanese, and especially Chinese mythology, though I highly doubt their depictions looked anything like that. This, however, was not what drove me to submit this to the challenge. When I folded my CP, I had what really looked a lot like an Easter Bunny, with wings. It truly looked like something that would be god of the bunnies. But it was the style and form and themes present that screamed out "Japan" to me (and Jon Tucker, who suggested it based on verbal description alone).

Congrats Sunburst and Topsu, and well done satsukawa. I feel you did a fair job judging (and not only because you chose my submission ;))

I would also like to add that even though he didn't have the time to fold and submit it to this challenge, I don't think anyone worked anywhere near as hard on this as Jonnnycakes. He's been working on his design constantly for weeks.

what a pity that the japan topic was obviously far away from being as interesting as a computer game (?) is in these early december days ... :cry:
