Best of Show Tiger Contest 2010

Post by ahudson »

Hey everyone, there's only a couple weeks until the Chinese New Year, and you know what that means-- our annual folding challenge is coming due! This time it's a toughie: Year of the Tiger. Given the difficulty of the subject, I thought it'd be best to start earlier so y'all have time to design it. The challenge will be in the same format as previous ones.

So get folding! You've got until February 7 to post a photo here. If you need some inspiration, look at some photos from Flickr or ARKive

Not a lot of activity at the moment.... but I guess this is the case at the beginning of a challenge.

I'm working on a design, I was wondering who else is?

Oh no, I completely forgot about this!
I've been wanting to design a really nice tiger for a while now, mainly because its my school's mascot. With first semester wrapping up next week, hopefully I'll have some time make something.

Here is my submission for now.

As it turns out, simple tigers with stripes aren't easy to design. I want to try at something more complex, hopefully before the deadline.

Absolutely excellent!I cannot comment it in any way, just ingenious! And, of course, you do not forgot nothing, just someone do not understand.

Here's my submission, Bengal Tiger.

Folded with triple MC tissue paper and wet finished. I designed this using 22.5 degree angles, no boxpleating. The stripes were obtained by adding a graft a 12th of the square to two edges.
