That's an awesome model, Flaregloom! Will there ever be diagrams/a CP of it?

A simple cp can be made easily, yet Jared Needle found a nicer and cleaner way. See it Here

The tail is about 3x as large as the body, when un-pleated. :o

great sphinx!
but I think it is better that you fold it from non-foil paper.
are you the same Philip who folded a Lucanus Elaphus from Kozo? ;-P

Origami Shen, Opus 4
The shen is an Ancient Egyptian symbol. It is a loop of rope with no beginning and no end. It is a symbol for eternity.

Sphinx
Image

I designed this in December 2004, but made some changes, like adding the ears and getting rid of some unwanted lines on the face. It is fully closed-back, from an uncut square.

I would be curious to see your own interpretation of this challenge.
Do You have mediumistic abilities? did you read my mind?

I obviously can't make it just like what was in my mind :P
But I wanted the gist. I love cobras. The wings are inspired by one model of an angel playing a lute.
5.5 inches long (stretched out). 6 inch wing span.

Good model!

I see how you made the wings, and I as well like using that method (out of a box-pleated corner of the paper)

The only suggestion that I have would be to pull out the wing flaps a bit more

I'll definitely see what I can do about that :3

I just wish I could make a more cobra like head and longer body D:
