Post by origamipapermonster »

Hi everyone, we just added some origami lucky star paper that some people have been requesting to us via email. If anyone's interested, please check it out www.origamipapermonster.com. We ship to USA and Canada. We're looking to add some thai Unryu paper too. If there's any others you're looking for, send us an email and let us know!

Thanks for the interesting article. I was unclear, though, about this: does this paper need to be treated with MC or the like before it is ready for folding?

Most hand-made papers seem to contain mulberry fiber (Hanji, Washi, Kozo, etc. may contain mulberry), and I primarily fold my models from mulberry tissues, which does require MC to fold crisply and give models a stronger support, otherwise the paper is similar to fabric. It depends on the sizing the paper has been treated with, but usually for most origami purposes it would be advantageous to use MC.
