Like Anna said you should try iridescent paper, kraft paper or buy tissue paper or unryu and make tissuefoil or double tissue. Lokta, when treated with MC should work too.

double tissue and thin kraft from origami shop as everyone said or thin tracing paper. Cheapest and easiest way.

I have some 45 cm kraft from origami-shop, and I would like to try this. Is it necessary to glue foil on the paper to get a decent result? I've folded one of the 'nazgul' versions by Jason Ku with it, but I couldn't shape it very well.

I haven't got to the shaping of the AD but I'd say that you can use MC to shape it without the need to glue foil on it.
