coloring tracing paper

Any suggestions on how to color tracing paper? I'm not looking to thicken it by adding another paper to it (and I've not had much luck avoiding major wrinkles when trying to do so), but coloring the paper itself....

I read on a blog a technique for coloring onion skin paper using oil pastels and a cotton swab with turpentine or other thinner, which I may try, but given he tracing paper's propensity to wrinkle, I have my doubts about it working...

Spraypaint the model after you're done folding and shaping. It works wonders for improving the longevity of the model too.

If I have to spray paint a model then does it have to be acrylic spray paints or it can be any type.

I've found a method that works pretty well.
1.Use BEINFANG PARCHMENT TRACING PAPER(and yes, I have heard of caps lock.)
2.spread some mc on it and scrape off as much as possible(use your hands and fingers for this), while smoothing out the paper. Wrinkles on the end will be pretty hard to avoid, but can be minimal with patience.
3. Repeat step 2, but use acrylic paint instead of mc.

So far, the result has been slightly cockled but drying under glass, while time consuming, will solve this. I have made one test sheet so far, and it works pretty well. I'll get a pic of the result soon if I can. Hope this helps .

Well, it worked out pretty well. Red paint rsulted in a nice salmon-red-pink-ish color, while the backside has a nice mottled effect. I still have issues with ripples, but letting it sit on the plexiglass for a few hours after its dry should help it get used to its stretched position
