Baking paper

Post by Mir Numaan »

hi,
i found a few sheets of baking paper with cakes...etc. Is it good for origami? It looks very strong and is shiny and smooth. The only color i get is white :(
wax paper and parchment paper are same as baking paper, right?

Some baking paper is much like parchment, crisp, thin and holds a crease well.
Other baking paper has a shiny foil side with an opposite tan paper side.
Generally comes in 10 or 12 inch rolls, and can be useful for practice.
Wax paper is quite different.
It is more like a weak glassine paper, transparent and thin, not very resistant to tearing when pushed to it's limit. Can be useful if used with a careful touch .
While wax paper may be used for some models, it oftentimes takes a back seat to glassine because wax paper generally only comes in one drab colour.
Ultimately, only you can determine whether it is useful or not, for your own purposes, after experimenting for awhile .
As a side note, I really do like the parchment to make snowflakes, as well as some tessellations .
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .
