Skytone treasure trove !

Post by gordigami »

Couldn't help myself ...
I'm so excited, I could spit !
Just had to announce one of my most exciting paper finds of all time.
Skytone
In large 23" by 35 " sheets !
Text weight .
Sort of a " poorman's elephant hide " .
Only 48 cents per sheet . ( Half a buck, for you cognoscenti )
Oftentimes sold in units of 500 commercially, but may be bought by individual sheets . I bought 10 sheets of each color.
Comes delivered in this ultra sturdy flat cardboard box. ( Probably worth more than the paper inside, just sayin' )
Several colors, mostly lighter, pastel type colors, with hint of texture . Unfortunately, no really dark ones .
I'll be experimenting with varying size models, folds & tessellations.
Caution: Trial folding in progress ... [-o<
Oh, where is this Skytone Utopia, you ask ?
Kelly Paper !
Apparently locations throughout the U.S., maybe overseas as well, don't know.
I bought in the store, but one may order online if preferred.

Type " Skytone" in the search box .
Warning : Comes in text or cover weight. Buy text. Or use sturdy industrial pliers to fold "cover" weight ...

For anyone looking to order, make sure to use the "shopping experience" on the right, the one on the left only has 8 1/2 X 11 sheets and a2 envelopes for skytone paper.
Be who you are, do things because you want to do them, and stop caring what others think. Then you'll be happy.

Added note:
I should mention that I've only ordered via in-store experience at the desk, at Kelly Paper.
You may or may not have such a store in your city.
The 23 inch by 35 inch sheets of skytone are the only ones that I have experience with.
They do have a variety of 8 1/2 by 11 inch in stock also, but I lean toward the versatility of the much larger sheets.
They do look nice enough on their own, but I also use skytone to see how a model might look, as practice, before I use a somewhat more precious elephant hide sheet.
It is closer to elephant hide than tant is , in my opinion .
And cheap !
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
