bleeding dyes

Post by al-black »

Hi everyone.

I'm pulling a topic out from an MC thread a while ago. We started talking about dyes/ink bleeding through on lokta papers when making duo styles. It drifted off, in part because I was waiting for an order to come in. Yes, it had a brown that bleeds. I also used the time to dig around a bit more.

One of the people I talked to was Britt Quinlan of the http://www.paperwright.ca/. She dug around and had two suggestions konyaku and gelatin. She also suggested I check some of treatments caligraphers use. Digging there, I saw that they sometimes use gum arabic. Has anybody tried any of these three?
