Triple Tissue

Post by kirakinn »

Hey, I was wondering how thick triple tissue is generally. I'm folding a Cockatiel and the white paper I'm using isn't opaque enough, so I was considering doubling up the white paper,, effectively making a triple tissue, but I though it might be too thick. The model doesn't have too many layers.

I've made pretty complicated insects with triple tissue before, along with wet folded, very simple models. It is an extremely versatile paper, but the thickness on depends on what tissue you are using and the quality of it. Make some in the size you need, if it is too thick (I doubt it will be though) just trim it down a bit smaller.

Thanks for the advice! I made the tissue, and I'm letting it dry. It's looking pretty good so far!

You glued together three sheets of printer paper? Let me guess, the result is something like cardboard and absolutely impossible to fold?
It's got a reason why we use tissue paper to make double or tripple tissue.

I fold most of stuff with triple tissue FOIL. It works great for (high) intermediate models. You get some interesting colors this was.
