Over the past few years I've developed the believe that origamists don't like as much models folded with white paper. Is that true? I think it gives the idea of being plain, colorless, know what I mean?

I'm thinking of folding Leonardo Pulido's Horse: http://neorigami.com/neo/index.php/en/a ... 43-caballo

What do you think about it in white? Might it be a good or a bad idea?

White is fine! There are great models in plain white, like Eric Joisel's late work: "Barbarians", "Commedia dell'arte"...

At first I thought you meant on "white paper" as in printer paper, which for many models is a waste of effort. But I don't see any problem with white paper, nor models folded with it. Perhaps the main issue with white paper is dealing with the contrast in images. Likely models are made with different colors not only because they are interesting but also because they are more receptive to photography, which is how a lot of origami is shared.

I don't see a problem with white for that particular model, as long as you have a good background and some yellow lights, or else you'll whitewash the model when taking pictures

This is a rather old thread, but I thought I'd give my opinion: I personally prefer white paper, as I like the contrast between the complexity of the model and the simplicity of the paper.

Interesting idea .

Some folders prefer white paper - I know Giang Dinh uses it to portray a sense of abstract nothingness!
