First, as a favor for those who may be unfamiliar with Tyvek...

Tyvek is a brand of flashspun high-density polyethylene fibers, a synthetic material; the name is a registered trademark of DuPont. It is often seen used as housewrap, a synthetic material used to protect buildings during construction. The material is very strong; it is difficult to tear but can easily be cut with scissors or a knife.

Tyvek is also widely used for non-building construction applications and is even able in single sheets of "paper." Has anyone tried using this material in fashioning origami models? If so,I would appreciate you sharing your thoughts on it suitability to origami in any context.

Anyway, I've folded Tyvek paper a couple of times. I like it . I recommend it for well-locked models, since it has a very bad memory. I'll edit the message tomorrow and add a picture of something I've folded with it.

Aside from the bad memory, Tyvek paper also has a very very smooth surface. So the model´s locking mechanisms can't be based on the friction of the paper. Tyvek must sound like a very unattractive material for origami, but the two cons I mentioned are compensated by its outstanding tear and liquid resistance.
