Treating hanji with MC

Post by Alo »

I tried to treat hanji paper with MC for the first time today and everything was great until I peeled off the paper. The paper started to warp a lot to the point that it became 3 dimensional and I wasn't able to cut it into a more or less perfect square because of the warping. I even tried ironing the paper with little to no results. Can anyone help me out and tell me how to get the paper to lie perfectly flat?
Thanks in advance!

It's possible the paper already had sizing, in which case you don't need to add MC.
In the event that it was unsized, a stronger (thicker) consistency of MC should do the trick. Make sure you apply it evenly as well, so everything dries at roughly the same rate.
After the fall, we rise.
