Hi all,

I am starting to fold some insects and I was wondering how many how you use single sheets of paper, and if you do, what kind of paper do you use? Do you treat it to make it stronger?

Depends on the insect. There are lots I do from tissue foil, and some I even use American foil (I use different techniques to color the white side, stuff looks really good). Then there are those that need specialized art papers and some mehtylcellulose treatment. Just depends on the model and the complexity.

Then there are some I don't fold because, well, I have a job and a life.

Brian Chan's leaf katydid is a good example. You definitely want single tissue (tissue paper treated with methyl cellulose) for that one, although other insects can get by on double tissue or other slightly thicker papers
