Anyone tried making "double kami" or MC treated kami, even just making two colored kami? If so, what were the results? :?:

I use kami if I'm not concerned with the quality of the finished model. Most kami comes two-colored as it is, and it won't take MC.

Thanks! So not something I should use my MC on  But what I meant was combining two sheets of separate colored kami, and MCing it together, but now i see it won't work because it doesn't take MC.

If you want custom-colored paper, you can make double tissue (which can be made larger than standard kami is--and is a lot stronger).

Thank you. In fact, I was planning to get some recently. Do you know where to find 18 gsm tissue, I could only find 19 gsm.

A single gram/square meter won't make a noticeable difference in the paper's thickness. You should be more worried about the wet strength and bleeding properties (or lack thereof) of the tissue.

Take whatever tissue paper you can get. The gsm is really nothing to worry about. It is just the weight of the paper and doesn't have any influence on the foldability.

Some years ago I bought a big roll with sheets in many colours at a local store. Something like this: https://www.gerstaecker.at/Blumenseiden-Sortiment.html

You can get tissue paper from many stationery shops. You can get it from Amazon too. Here you can find non-bleeding paper, which is useful for making bi-colour paper. The grammage does not matter much because you are going to treat it with a sizing agent that is going to determine resistance to tear, crispiness, tension, etc.
