in step 76 all you have to do is first get togheter the 2 mountain fold corners, then take the low corners upside... just precrease the lines as shown and then collapse in the way the arrows show! what else goes hard for you?
maybe you can post some pictures or something...

I am having some trouble with this step as well. Is 76 telling you to crimp only the first layer? I cannot do it with all the layers, the paper is far far too thick (doing a practice fold with regular computer paper). When I do 76 with only the first layer, it is impossible to do 77 correctly, as the paper wont fold in half through all those layers. I skipped that precrease and tried to keep going, but 81 brings me to a halt, the layers problem again. Any help is appreciated!!

Thats exactly what i folded mine from, which turned out okay, so it should be fine. Although there ended up being a small rip in one of the wings due to too much stress from the layers, so be carefulshortloldude wrote:Ah, thanks bethnor. Would 35 inch kami at 53g/m work?

Don't these pictures look much better than before?
And I do not know why the right leg in the flying picture looks broken.
Folded from an uncut square of Kraft 40cm

Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Hercules Beetle
to all using Kami for this model: its not a great paper choice. its not strong enough for all the layers in this model. to those who succeeded with using kami on this models: congrats.
Origamido, unryu, hanji, and other paper like that work really well on this one, from my personal experience.
