TF is okay to me. I prefer thicker paper, because I make A LOT of wet folded models.
I also use quite a bit of kami.
When I have it, I use Origamido.
another thing is double tissue + mc, ah, I use all kinds of paper. I can't choose a favorite out of my mind right now.

Ogami from Paper Circle. IMHO even better than Origamido. I only use it when Lokta, VOG or Unryushi won't do. For example I could't get a great result on Kamiya's grasshopper with unryushi but with Ogami it was much better!

I prefer to use either tracing paper or tissue foil. Tissue can also work great, but it's a bit hard to get the details without wet folding. Double tissue is also pretty good, but I haven't used it a lot so far.
Tissue Paper + CMC = WIN!

i actually prefer to use stiff paper than soft ones... the one i use often for test folds is "parchment paper" here.. stiff paper, less translucent than tracing paper...

I use tissue paper for insects and "sandwich paper" (tissue+foil+tissue) for other models.

My own
70/30 abaca/flax at about 25gsm for complex bugs that need very thing legs.
70/30 abaca/flax MC'd to a single tissue for just about anything else complex ~ 50gsm.
For large sheet test folds (30" + square) 7lb tracing MC'd to a single piece of tissue, it's a bit thick though. I just don't like the feel of tracing paper by itself for some reason.
