Help with fly..
Hello!
I have started with a fly i found on this page:
http://www.origami.34sp.com/fly%20diags1.htm
I have some problem with understanding step 5 here.
When i have rabbit eared the upper layer, am i then supposed
to unwrap the rabbit ear and continue working with the same layer
or should i continue with the lower layer (but still on the same waterbomb). I cant get the result to be able to perform the creases
in step 7.
Thank you for listening.
Br,
Christian Otrel

The Steps 4-7 all happen on the same flap.
Step 5 is sort of a precreasing to make Step 7 easier. In Step 6 you return the model to what it was before the colour change in Step 5.
You could skip Steps 5 and 6 altogether and go straight to Step 7 but the creases get cleaner when doing those two "extra" steps

I think you understood it right, but it's a bit hard to explain without pictures.
The important thing is that Step 5 - 7 only affect one single layer of paper, the rest of the layers stay in the rabbit ear shape exactly like you folded them in Step 4.
If you're still having troubles I can post pictures later, I'm at work at the moment and have no access to a camera right now.

Ok, let's see if that helps you
This is what you should have after step 4. (Except for the creases I've already added because I folded steps 5-7 once before taking those photos).
5.1 Open the rabbit ear and open out the top layer to get something like in the next picture.
5.2 Push in the indicated point and wrap the outer raw edge further around (this is the actual wrap around)
5.3 Fold the left part edge to edge along the valley fold indicated in the diagrams while closing the rabbit ear again.
5.4 Like this. Flatten the model.
6. You should have this. Now undo everything you have done to return to something like in the next picture.
7.1 Open the rabbit ear again like you did in 5.1. (I know I cheated a bit here, this photo is exactly the same as the one for 5.1 )
7.2 Now we'll focus on the circled area.
7.3 Push in where indicated folding the small "square" in half (it's not exactly square but close enough). This is actually the small valley fold indicated on the small triangle in the diagrams.
7.4 It should look somehow like this. Close the rabbit ear and fold the left side together (similar to 5.3) and flatten the model.
Et voila! The model is ready to be continued

Well, since I already started folding that model, I also finished it (from 5x15cm)

It's a rather nice model, except for the fact that it's not from a square.
Hmmm.... with the right paper it should be possible to fold it life-sized (that is 1cm in length at most) since it is not too complex... anyone up for that challenge?

Apologies for the confusion caused by my terrible diagrams. This was the first time I ever tried diagramming entirely with a computer - and knowing nothing about drawing software, I did the whole thing in Microsoft Paint. Never again!

Anyone want to go smaller?

Wolf: Yeah, sorry. The image is from my website, which for various reasons is deliberately intended to be UK-centric. If I was doing an image just for this forum, I would have included a ruler.
Daydreamer: Ummm, can't remember what the starting size was. It was foil wrapping paper - really cheap stuff, so it's nice and thin. I coloured the white side with a black marker pen.

Here it comes, folded from a 1x3cm sheet of thin kraft paper, and fits nicely into a 1x1cm square.
I was able to get through the folding process without any help except for my fingers, the outcome looks more like a squashed fly than anything else though....
As comparison the one I folded before together with the small one
