This is the best that i can do. While i have most of the petals are correct, i still cant get the initial swirl done correctly. The result is a rose that does not look like a rose. So far, I spent all the hours of an entire week on this, and to my dismay i am still so far away from it.

Alright, here's my share of help :
First of all, this is what I got after collapsing the base :

As you can see, the undermost flap is a pentagon. Now, all you have to do is make swivel folds for each flaps progressively till each petal is pretty much curved upwards. Then, twirl the center flaps around and fold the rest of the petals down. Hope this helps. By the way, if your model starts to look more like a ball, you might want to consider starting over with better paper (I used tissue foil).

In case you can use this:
http://base.googlehosted.com/base_media ... 217&size=8
or you already have it?
anyway, this rose has taken me months and still I'm not happy with my results
if you collapse it properly it should have a concavity downwards, I had better results lifting the petals changing it upwards.
best of the lucks.
I have a couple of pictures in my blog about this, if you like.

Considering the amount of time i have thrown into this figure, i hope i get a chance to see Dr. Lang in action, i have a lot of questions about the diagrams themselves. Aside from 1 or two folders in this forum, i have not met a single person who have folded this, and i spoke with some pretty strong folders.
Lang's Rose
I've folded it.
The base as shown in the picture in the Sunburst's post is basically the finished rose. The last bit (the difficult bit) is to persuade it, with some curling (I use a pencil to get the curves) and twisting using the curves to encourage the petals to form to the side of the lower petals so that they are not stacked on top of each other.
I've found it best to use foil to hold the new curves/twists.

thanks to a series of collapsing images i'm going to try collapsing it!

my only wish is that the pictures are larger.anermak wrote:http://oriart.ru/forum/11-186-2
But much to my dismay, it still resembles nothing like the pictures in lang's diagram.
