Help with Barn Owl Crease Pattern by Robert J Lang

I really love folding Robert Lang's models so I saw the CP for the barn owl on his site.
I'm having trouble with the eyes and a valley fold near the beginning of the talons.
Can you help?
We all have gone very far from folding the crane.
