Brian chans perched locust size?

Post by stevieboy1 »

Hi all i want to fold brians perched locust but what size paper should i use?
Im looking at a 40 by 40cm square of tissue foil and thinking it might turn out quite big?
I want it to end up around 5 6 inches ruffly so what sort of size paper should i use?

I used to fold a lot of insects years ago but just cant remember for the life of me what size i used to use lol but im sure it was smaller than 40by40

Kind regards & happy folding

If I remember correctly from the once I've folded that model, it has about a 40% model:paper ratio. So you'd need a ~15" square, which is about 43cm. Therefore 40cm should be fine.
After the fall, we rise.

Edit:

I still wasnt happy with 40 by 40 so went with 30 by 30 and it came out the perfect size buy your explination on the 40% ratio was spot on so was very helpfull in resizing the paper down to get a the size i wanted thank you
happy folding
Steve ;-)
