Kunihiko Kasahara - Crane

In Creative Origami, the diagrams for Crane suggest skipping steps 4 to 6 and shape the tail like one of the models shown in the picture at the bottom of the page. My question is why?

Is it a another kind of crane within its taxonomy? I don't get why are there two types of tails for his crane. Do you have an idea?

Thanks in advance :).

No, it is not about different cranes it is about getting a Flamingo and a Crane.

I don't think so origami_8. Have you seen the picture with the five grown birds and a small one? The one with the long tail is the second one from the left. That one has a straight beak like a crane instead of a crooked one like the flamingo.

Believe whatever you want to believe, the text says otherwise.

Thanks origami_8. I don't find it as clear as you from the text, but maybe that idea was lost in translation. I'm reading it in Spanish.

If someone has a different understanding about Crane, Flamingo, and Kasahara's suggestion regarding skipping those steps, please let me know :).
