Anyone have the reference point for this CP? Image

I think the top edge ref points are: 1:√2:√2:2:2

or the main diagonal is: 1:√2:1:√2:2:1

(which ever is easier to use/fold from, I guess)

The collapsing is very easy, but the model is like 100 steps away from the finished product. I personally couldn't even figure out the head

I tried out 1/8th, but the leg / back spine area doesn't collapse perfectly.

One way of folding this is:

Image

Fold the 22.5 deg.(black lines) then mark 50% above the end of that fold and fold from that mark to the lower corner. The intersection between that and the main diagonal will give you a key ref. point. (red lines)
(The intersection marks between 2+2√2 and 3)

From there, the second picture shows how to further fold into the crease pattern. (First, fold the black then the blue)

(Personally I don't like having to fold thirds so I might look for other ways of folding the ref. point. Although, thirds isn't too bad, I guess)

Ah thank you! Going to test this one out.

1/8 is incorrect? I actually found it here: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4764980435

ShuaiJanaiDesu rights - side of the square is: 5+2*sqrt(2)
Green - correct, orange - incorrect:

hmm that explains, thanks for clarifying. I am still stuck on figuring out the head, i will probably just wait for diagrams if they ever get published

I personally find the head easy compare to the wings. Wish someone can post a clear picture of the back side of the wings.

I was able to fold the head and collapse the model, the problem is how to shape the wings??? About the back, i think that the extra flap next to the tail in the belly section is used to create the spikes in the back, by simply reversing the flap and then pulling out. Maybe i can post a photo later on the model.

Wondering if there is an easier way to fold the reference point? Using a large sheet of paper makes it almost impossible to precrease it.

The best you can do is plot the reference points using a ruler, but since the reference points are often irrational numbers, you technically cannot get it perfect all the time. You can use reference finder but that requires folding sequences to get to the reference points.

I folded it, but the head shape ended up different and i managed to fold only 2 spikes in the back instead of 3.
Apparently, the forum says that i can't have a image larger than 640 pixels wide as an img BBcode, so i posted a link:
