Help with Fujimoto Tessellation

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on the forum. I have already folded the 3 stage tessellation but am confused on the later stages:

1. How can a paper be folded into 40 equal parts? For that matter even 24?

2. Is there a way to figure out the dimension of the paper before and after folding? For eg.: With a 12" square paper, folded into the 5 stage tessellation will yield how big a model?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have posted the link at the end of this message :)

Thanks & regards,

Hello and welcome on board Image
To divide a paper into 40th, first divide it into fifth and fold it that long in half and in half again until you get 40th (that´s three times).
To divide it into 24th do exactly the same, with the only difference that you divide it into thirds first and than in half and in half again...

Thank you

Thank you Anna (origami_8). That really helped a lot. I want to try doing it with parchment. So wish me luck.
