I´ll try to fold this godzilla (origami tanteidan 15th convention) for a friend of mine; as a pity I can´t work out at step 5, where the points a, b, c and d are exactly (for example if "a" is 2 times 1/16, then "b" one additional 1/16, ... ?), since I see "2/3" in the japanese instructions, and the positions of the opposite points for the creases (at the bottom; is it 1/16 ?).

Here is a free, lightly commented translation of the text of step 5.
Hopefully, it can help you a bit.

• Top right of the picture:
  The indicated point (between a and b) is the 16th mark from the picture on the right (step 4).
  a and c are of equal width (1/16th); also b and d are of equal width.
  b is about 2/3 of a.
• Bottom right of the picture:
  About half the width of the top creases.

• Top left of the picture:
  Fold the same 4-pleat accordion on the left side.

thanks for your quick reply - I successfully folded up to step 16, I do have an idea what to do in the next steps, but I can´t fold 17 to 21 ;-(
(interesting, that I managed to fold for example the cerberus of the 15th convention ...)

seems that I´ll have to lay this godzilla aside unfinished.

If it can help, instructions from steps 16 to 23 read something like:

• 16: Put a finger inside and spread out
• 17: Spread a bit 1 layer of the inside pocket from the middle to the outside
• 18: Pull out the folded layers to the outside
• 19: Here (the bold line) is a bit bent (i.e., not flat anymore)
• 20: Squash the inside
• 21: Flatten the center

Also:

• 23: Here, lengths are not the same

So, as a start, you need to unfold partially those zigzag folds: at first, the inside layers (step 17) and then the outside ones (step 18).

I think basically I´ve tried this, but with your translation the steps are clearer.

my experience: I have to stop with this model for some time and then try it again - often this works: I fold steps that I could not fold before (and do ask myself, why I failed before ...)
