Help with llama Origami

Post by ashley »

Trying to do this Llama

http://www.origamichile.cl/gui/diagramas/pdf/llama.PDF

rough translation here:

Llama

In order to develop this figure sandwich needs a rectangle paper, contained by three squares of 27cm. Of as we will clear portions of paper of the ends, according to indicates the diagram; this will give to a final figure of 19cm height us by 10cm of wide

1. To divide in three squares

2. Two diagonals crossed for each square

3. Now if we can divide all the paper in small squares

4. To cut the noticeable ends

5. Now we will work the noticeable square

6. (look at diagram)

7. To become thin by both sides and to repeat by the other end

8. To become thin until arriving at the small square, (that was in depth)

9. Two for inside and two for outside

9.1 Lateral vista

10. To expand for the flanks and to press

10.1 (on diagram)

11. To hide and to superpose

12. To double down for both sides

13. In order to develop the small tail, it will have to use a layer (little arc pic) the rest we sank it

14. Adelgazar = To become thin
Once developed to the legs and the tail, the following step is to change the sense of depth in the indicated points (*), this will give more realism to the body of the flame and the shaded part indicates to us that we must double inwards to make belly. Finished this we happened to develop to the neck and the head

15-21. (as shown)

22. To sink the paper layers that are below the neck and soon to give form.

23. Finished figure

im guessing "aldegazar" - "to become thin".. maybe is meaning "fold"

im kinda stuck on step7 where it suddenly changes into something else

any support or is this impossible?

How long have you been folding? this is a very complex model, and if you have not folded a while, this may be above your level.

I concur with Aznman. This is a complex model and I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner.

You're much better off trying to find a copy of Origami Omnibus, as someone suggested in another thread. You might check your local library for a copy.

If you are determined to try to fold this model, be prepared to fail and start over many times.

Box pleating is a style of folding characterized by all folds running at multiples of 45°, with the majority running at multiples of 0° and 90° on a regular grid.
That was from Robert Lang's website
