Hi,

I was looking at some of Shu Sugamata's undiagrammed models (https://www.flickr.com/photos/matayado- ... 3921597935) and saw mentions of the following bases:
- extended fish base
- extended waterbomb base
- tri-folded folded fish/frog base
- double folded fish base
- extended balloon base

Any ideas what these bases look like? I never heard or saw them anywhere. I've been folding for a long time, maybe I'm just ignorant.

Is there a single way of extending the traditional bases (fish, frog, bird)?

Maybe just another term for blintzed ...base?

That's the usual way to extend the common bases, you first make a blintz and then fold the desired base. This provides you with additional paper. Of course you could also add a graft, either on the sides or through the middle of the paper, to extend a base.

I think Anna might be right because I don't see how one would strectch a fish base in the sense that a bird base is stretched.

Regarding the tri/double folded bases, any ideas about that?

That most likely refers to blintzing the paper twice or three times first--or folding a given base in two or three quadrants of the square.

And Brimstone is right, especially considering that a stretched bird base has the same proportions as a fish base.
