Peter Engel - Crab (Origami from Angelfish to Zen)

Hi.
I want to fold the Crab model from Peter Engel's Origami from Angelfish to Zen.
I'm at the beginning trying to understand what is happening in the diagram. I think I manage to do everything up to step 6. Step 7 and 8 I cannot understand how to proceed.

Disclamer: I'm probably to unexperienced for that model, but I want to try...
