The original link to the CP does not work, I have skimmed most of the pages, can anyone give a link to the original crease pattern and notes on it (the one first published on Joisel's website ) that works? thanks.

Below is a picture of some i did recently, hope it helps.

origami_8: I just realized something. I was trying to fold the hobbit long ago using regular copy paper, but that is not a true rectangle, right? Probably explains why I had a hard time with it. I didn't realize I had to remove a strip.

I keep messing up the hat and face when I collapse the model. Anyways, here's another dwarf. I didn't bother folding the fingers on the one hand.

My suggestion would be to not fold a grid at all. start with the thirds and 45* diagonals.then the rectangle pleats. fold bisectors at top for hat and arms, then do arm pleats. collapse. this will stop you from unnecessary grid creating and can be done properly in about 15 minutes.

That's pretty much what I do ... divide into thirds, do the two diagonals, bisecting for hat, and then pleat where necessary. That doesn't mean it will take 15 minutes, lol.

Here's my newest one:

I don't think it would work. You could try, but Joisel said it was a different piece of paper for the instrument.

His face makes him look a bit like a monkey

Any recommendations on how to make it better would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe a little too late to bring this up, but what do you use to shape the face?

I use a pair of tweezers that are a little bit like pliers. I think you could just make the top waterbomb the eyes, the middle, the nose and the bottom just use tweezers and crumple them stylistically.

I prefer doing that, just a suggestion. Yours has an aesthetic touch to it! :D
