Origami Ferris Wheel

Post by firstfold »

The origami Ferris Wheel is the combintaion of many "elbows". Each elbow is folded from a rectangle - the larger ones are 8" by 8". An elbow is a folded into a square tube that is bent at some place. It has a diagonal in the middle to give it extra strength. An ebow is actually strongewr than a straight tube ("Stick")
There are inside elbows (the diagonal opening is on the inside of the bend) and outside elbows and twisted elbows (more than one bend).

To see how to fold sticks (tubes with diagonals), wheels and axels check out my web site.

If there is sufficient interest, I will diagram the elbows.

gear box and elbows

Post by firstfold »

for more uses of elbows - check out the new model called "gear box"
You can drop in new gears and it rolls.
It is a bit "cranky" (pun intended)
