Modular origami

I'm trying to make a big modular Origami table of elements for my teacher but I can't find any modular units that make a square and connect at the same time.

My deadline is december twentieth thanks

Have you tried the Sonobe Unit?

1 unit is a square with two connectors at opposite edges.

You could also join 4 units to make 1 compound square with connectors at all 4 edges.

but they all need to be connected and flush ive tried this design but am having trouble w/ it
