Yes, Nguyen Cuongs's eagle is very impressive. I would love
to fold it as well! I checked the vietnamese origami group
website and I believe I saw the words 'free' next to a picture
of the eagle. The rest was in Vietnamese so I don't know how
to access it.... Good luck.

I love that eagle too, but still no diagrams... By the way... Do you know what kind of paper uses Cuong? I have seen that paper in several of his models, but have no idea of what kind of paper is that...

Hope to see those diagrams in any magazine soon... :D

mmm... the paper... sorry I don't know, but looks like a paper, in Mexico, is use to package the shoes  is very strong and is laminated with plastic on one side; the other is just a very thin layer of paper

Yes LeoMx, that was indeed the page. But I was not talking
about Nguyen's Gallery. It does say 'Free' and shows a portion
of the crease pattern.

I think is kind of a poster... one to promote a convention, maybe.

Nguyen Hung Cuong recently updated his eagle. He posted the CP of the new version along with the CP of the old version for comparison. It's in his gallery on the VOG forum. The crease pattern is very elegant as usual.
Do you know what kind of paper uses Cuong?
By the way, I've known enough Vietnamese-Americans to know that Nguyen is a common last name. (As are Pham, Hoang, and Giang). it's real fun learning how to pronounce them too (Nguyen is pronounced a lot like "win" or "when"--the Ng is silent)

So Cuong is his first name.

hmm, let me explain about that poster, the CP in the background is not Eagle's CP (of another one I don't remember  ), just an advertisement purpose for the Origami Convention in Vietnam. The text script does says FREE is means "Convention open for free, not need of invitation letters"

The Eagle's CP has been published after Cuong (Vietnamese call him like that) upgraded the model to new version

Here is the CP of both:

And more quality of new model (Eagle 2007):

More little things about paper uses:

The old version (Cyan color paper) is very thin. It similar to glazed paper or cellophane (NOT nylon). Paper size: 36x36~40x40 cm - srry I don't remember

The new version (brown color paper) is popular wrapping paper we use in Vietnam to folding. The size used is 60x60cm

P/S:
ALL THE CP JUST PUBLISH SINCE LAST WEEK. BRAND NEW!!! ^_^
DIAGRAM IS N/A NOW, CUONG HAVE NOT DRAW IT YET

Yeah, that's what I thought. I know I've been chastised for calling Japanese by their first names (i.e. Satoshi, Takashi, etc.), and wasn't sure if that was the way in Vietnam. Thanks for clarification.

Also, LeoMX, that CP is for the new brown eagle, not the old turquoise one.

Well, yeap the big CP is "V 2007" and 2006 CP added.

This is what I've found drawing lines on the CP

I think theres no problem finding the initial folds, I've posted it in case someone reading this is interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it's just a very good variation of KAMIYA's Cerberus.

WHOAH!!!! I LOVE THIS MODEL!!!! Thanks for posting the CP.
I can't wait to fold it. Also LeoMx, the references you posted, is that for
the 2007 CP or 2006? Hopefully we'll be seeing some nice eagles around
:P

The pseudo-references  are for 2006 model indeed

I haven't seen the Kamiya's Cerberus CP... but if is a variation, Dao took Kamiya's words "reuse folds" or something like that (It's on his book; works of.... blah)

I'm traying to fold the eagle but I'm kind of tired of origami... maybe on Monday I will start :P

Think we'll need som help to fold the square in 40/40
