Unfortunately, my folding did not work out so well. I cannot seem to collapse the pattern at all. Although this is by far the closest I have ever come to folding a crease pattern this difficult. Thank you for the showing me the photodiagram anermak. It really helped.
Whenever I do complex Origami I get this sinking feeling.

alas, my first crease pattern, the only problem is that the gills looks like as if it was ravaged by a thousand birds....

Hey Kafar, how do you actually "make" your cps? Do just feed ORIPA with the CP and try out mountain/valley folds until you get a foldable base?

If its that easy i'll give the installation of ORIPA another try...

I use Oripa for two things:
1. to find reference points,
2. to make cp nice clear look

I'm folding cp in real and then making cp on oripa, sometimes oripa has problems and shows it's unfoldable, when it can be folded, it's just a program to simulate folding the creases :D

ps, using oripa to finding m/v isn't the best way cause oripa can find many different ways of folding and it won't be the right way :D

help...

Post by efmp1987 »

This is my first crease pattern, and I actually did it without prior practice... :D but the problems are the gills and the tails. How on earth do you actually make the gills? Is there a technique for it? Im also confused about the tail, on the photo diagram prior to molding the tail, the "flap" that is to become the tail fin is very short, and Im just wondering why in the finish model the tail fin is very long... Any idea?
