.:)
We can also accept that the Phoenix IS a beautiful model, and having a video tutorial (probably the best kind next to actually having someone teach you) is pretty awesome.

I agree sroge! The only time I ever "succesfully" tried making it, there were things that didn't turn out the way I wanted them to, so I had to get them pretty close. There is one good thing about that. I think i made a variation of the head. Speaking of folding the phoenix before the video, thank jared for his precreasing tutorial too! I would have never been able to precrease the model beforehand, as the phoenix was my first introduction into crease patterns.

Just finished folding from a square of double tissue. The wings turned out (really) badly, but the rest was fine. :)

So I'm done folding it... is there any tips or a guide to shaping the wings like Kamiya did?

you misunderstand. did you go to the topic that has been sticky'ed "satoshi kamiya - phoenix help topics" at the top of the diagrams and crease patterns board and click on any of the links that mention the wings? have you gone to flaregloom's anthology of SK models, also at the top of forum, and clicked even one link to the phoenix?
