Hidiho :p

I tried folding Nguyen Hung Cuong's new model, the Chef Rat.
The outcome was...let's say it was not as impressive as the authors ;)
I am rather satisfied with the body...first try of a more complex CP and i used Kraft Paper.

When folding the hat i came so frustated after a while that i just wrapped it arround and tried to hold it in place with a few folds...

I hope someone has some hints how to solve that problem more elegant *g*

You can download the CP here: http://origami.artists.free.fr/NguyenHu ... hefrat.htm

There's nothing wrong with it. Just name it "wizard rat" and you're good to go.

It look's like you've misarranged the layers on the leg. It should be rounder, but I think it's caught underneath. But hey, it's a great first attempt.

yes, i know. but as you already mentioned thats a minor thing and should be no big problem to solve when folding the model again :-)

thanks :roll:

You're not going to be able to fold the hat from small paper. Anyhow, you're going to want to fold the hat forward. Here's mine I folded a while back, the day Cuong released the CP. As I said, my paper was too small.

If you wait a bit, you can see the diagrams in the next Origami Collection (OrigamiUSA)

is the spoon made from paper as well???? :?

The spoon is from a different sheet ;)

marc, i don't live in the us and i'm no member of the ousa. actually folding cps is more fun to me at the moment than folding from diagrams :)

jared, are you sure the hat has to be folded foreward? It looked to me as it was wrapped arround from behind :?

Ok so the diagram may look a little confusing to you because of the flap placement. I personally havent folded this model yet, but it looks like you just have to arrange the layers untill you get something that looks like the diagram.

hi,

it is hard to believe:
I´ve folded kamiya´s cerberus;
I´ve folded ku´s nazgul;
I´ve folded kamiya´s bahamut and

...

... I´ve folded the chef rat (nguyen hung cuong) already two times - giving the models to colleagues of mine - knowing that I´m able to fold the chef rat any time once again ... well ...

I´m totally stuck at step 57 (50 hours of origami): I´m pretty sure everything is correct up to this point; I do have 4 tips on top in step 56, but after performing step 56 the first and the second tip are somehow "connected" to each other and I do have no chance to reverse-fold anything to get a result like in step 58 :(
I´ve tried every possible folds/variations I could think of - the result is not step 58, but a ripped and crumpled paper ...

obviously there must be something wrong ...

any help is appreciated, pics or even a video highly welcome.

thanks

Ok I am stuck at exactly the same place as franz. How did you solve the problem? The closed unsink in step 56 seems to lock all the points.
