I've had some luck with wrapping paper from the Hema, as you can see in these pictures

I've just started on the Wizard with wrapping paper from IKEA, (Ã–NSKA) and it's excellent!!! one euro, for 10 meters x 60 cm, and the material is very much like baking paper. It holds folds very well, gives nice sharp edges just like foil, but with easy handling like paper. I'm very pleased with this material, great value for money!

Step 80 is a triangular open sink. In step 81, you flatten the top flap and make a rectangular squash fold. I hope this is helpful.

Hi, I was going to fold this model from tissue foil, but I don't have 50 cm foil. So I was wondering if I could glue two sheets of foil together to get a bigger piece. I just wanted to know specificly for this model because of the thick layers I wanted to know if gluing sheets together would make the model unworkable in the end.

i think you can work on it with your method of gluing 2 sheets of foil together(even if like you sayed you will have probleme on the end with the thickness especially with the head and the "junction" of the neck and the forelegs.....)
so i give you the method that i use for gluing large piece of tissue paper onto foil
in France it's difficult to found foil larger than 29cm i "work" with it
i spray glue on the foil(take a long piece) and i try to align one edge of my piece of tissue paper with the edge of foil and i "glue" it
for a sandwich of 50cm you will have approximativelly now 21cm(50-29cm=21cm)of free tissue paper(not gluing onto foil)

again i take another long piece of foil,spray glue,and align the edge of "sandwich"(where the free tissue paper begin) with the edge of foil

First, thank you for the reply.
I think I will just fold it with a small square (around 11 inches) and see how it turns out.
Also, If I understand you correctly, you do not overlap the foil. but lay it side to side, using the tissue a support for holding it all together. Does this work very well? It seems that the joints would be to weak.

You can also let the foil overlap a little bit, that works very well too.
I remember that somewhere on this Forum we had this discussion before, maybe you could get some hints by searching for it.

yes is that!
it's work well even if you do not "regluing" another piece of tissue paper backside...
and like origami_8 said you can let the foil overlap a little

1 inch is nearly 2,5 cm, so 11 inch would be 27,5 cm.

It'll generally take a few weeks, more if it's back-ordered (they have a tendency to forget about back-ordered stuff though).

Or, seeing that you're in upstate, just make a trip down to the city for the next convention and buy it on the spot.
