As it says in the foreword of the book, "Michael LaFosse of the Origamido Studio, who made the sheets from which I folded many models in this book." So the dragon was probably made with homemade paper.
Here is a link to their site http://store.origamido.com/handmadepaper.html
If you want to spenp 1200$ for 75 or so sheets...... Or for a more economic approach,

I would suggest using a big piece of tissue foil. I made it out of 11 inch Tissue with some difficulty. Then I used a piece of 19 inch (you have to glue two sheets of foil together) and it was somwhat "easy" you can see both results in the "what have you folded lately" thread.

What kind of paper have you been using? and on what step does your paper rip?

Always be gentle with the paper, and sometimes the rips will be on the inside of the model so you can keep on folding.

Hope that helps a little.

As far as I can remember this should be an open sink and no inside reverse fold:

origami 8 is right,in step 59 you have to do exactly the same procedures you've done before on steps 51 to 57...

Read the instructions; you have to use the same folding method you used to fold the pleats in steps 51 to 57.

Does the small, wide flap formed in step 46 get trapped at step 51.

If I understood your question correctly, then yes.

You can also turn the flap into belly pleats by using Phil's instructions.

(he posted them earlier in this thread)

Hi , I ve looked up Friet's 6 instruction about step 83~85 but still I stuck here :(

Here is the beginning of step 83:
Image

Trying to fold a bird base like Friet's:
Image

Here is the part which I stuck at ( the circled part wont be flat like step 84 on the book):
Image

So I'll have to PULL OUT the circled part :
Image

But after pulled out , when I tried to fold the crease line like step 84 instructed , I found out there are so many layers that it would be separated, hence having trouble open sink it:
Image

Here is my inner layer of step 84:

Am I doing the right job ??? Thank you very much.
