thanks!
Ok Sajprj that is the part most people get stumped... but its in a nutshell a very irregularly collapsed Ellias Stretch with a combination of pulling up the diagonal pleating you made in Step 25! =) Just use those as guideline and fold up and collapse. An easy method is to cound off the bottom corner 4 squares and hold the diagonal part down that way it makes the collapsing stage easier.

I think VOG crumpled is a pretty good choice. Look at my result up the top.

you get the same result if you tape together 4 sheets of kami. so why dump the extra money?

you yourself said you used MC to touch up the final result of the VOG paper. if you use glue, tape, and other adulterants, you can certainly make the kami version more presentable too. that's the whole point you "VOG paper ROX" folks seem to be missing--if you are willing to use extra touches to give the final model an extra nice appearance, why should you spend the extra money on VOG paper? take a look through shuki kato's flickr account. a lot of his models are done with tracing paper and he just paints them at the end.

Good point... Still I like the texture of VOG and the way it acts. Im noy saying I hate kami. Its just that Im discovering new things in origami. Hey I just started at the end of last year so I pretty much dont know how the other types of paper behave. So ya. I dont really have much access to origami paper here so I just buy from origami shop.com and try to dicover the diffrent types of paper.. You cant blame me for just starting right. Anyway Ill keep your point in my mind and try it out one day... As soon as I get kami...

Hmm I used a 14X14 inch Tracing paper.. Bristol and the model comes out nice and tight! but you will loosed most of the details since the paper is kinda smallish...

What size paper would be recommended for folding this for the first time.

Around 40-60 cm. One can buy a 19x24" pad of Strathmore tracing paper at most local craft stores. A square cut from that will do quite well.

You can buy a roll of 36" wide 8lb tracing paper as well online.

I could be wrong.
on step 83 do you collapse both layers on the top or just one?

Both I believe. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to open sink anything in the next steps.
