Re: Satoshi Kamiya - Praying Mantis (CP)
I agree, I really enjoy the pre-creasing for some reasom. I'm on my final fold of it now. The first one, the paper was way to small and the head/antennae were impossible to shape. I'm using 50cm now, hopefully it'll work. Anyways, 175-176 are similar to a swivel fold, then tucking the extra paper behind. Hard to explain but i figured it out on my second try.

as far as i can tell, though, the immediate layer beneath the mountain fold is trapped. the only way to do it is by doing the mountain fold through the entire thickness of the abdomen--is that right? the paper i'm using (nicolas terry paper backed foil) is too thick to allow that for me...175-176 are similar to a swivel fold, then tucking the extra paper behind.
regardless, for those giving this a go, these folds help detail the wings, and are actually very well hidden, so are very easily fudged without impacting the final model.
