Miscounted the amount of units for the scale precreasing. Had to start again. :( That base is in the trash.
Making new base ATM.

Current progress:

Looks good! My progress - I have finished making the scales on the upper half and have collapsed all of it expect for the head, and a question - Do I neck-twist before or after collapsing the head base?

I'd do it after, makes it a lot easier to handle.

Thanks :D Yeah, I'd suggest the neck twist after you collapse the head base.

I have just started my 4th attempt at the Ryujin 3.5. I am using Kraft paper with a weight of 55gsm and 120x120cm in size, and in two separate parts. Is that good?

120 is too small for a good 3.5... Try to find a bigger paper as shoulder scales get SUPER small while folding. You must remember that 96 is not a small grid. The bigger the grid, the smaller the lines.

Well I could have gone as high as 180x180cm but my desk isn't big enough.

Hmm.. I usually fold big paper's in the floor. As my desk isn't big enough, either.

Here is a picture of my progress on the bottom half. I have gone straight into the scale transitions.

Looks good, but I would suggest buying WOSCO before attempting the 3.5. It has the official cp (your's isn't) and some advice on flap arrangement of the head, how to make the necktwist, etc. Also if your desk isn't big enough to fit your paper on (mine isn't either), fold on a table (I use our dining table and move when it is going to be used).

What is WOSCO? I am already halfway through the scales of the bottom half of the model. And I used a mountain-valley crease pattern diagram for the legs. The scales look very clean, but I think I am overusing the binder clips a bit.

Oh, man, you just ruined your ryujin. The cp you're using is the FAKE CP For the 3.5. Buy World of Super COmplex Origami by Satohi Kamiya. It has the original CP which Kamiya used for 3.5. The one in the internet is just a fake CP.

I just found the book on scribd.com but it's all in japanese. But all the stuff on the Ryujin looks very useful. By the way I did use the updated crease pattern for the transitions from leg to leg scales. The rest of the updated crease pattern included added detailing to the scales and a different look on the end of the tail. Everything else in the crease pattern seems the same. (except it is now a mirror image of the 'fake' crease pattern.
