What size of kraft paper would you reccommend for folding this model the first time?

I used 40in and everything was bigger than it needed to be except form the final open sinks on the toes, which I had to use a pencil tip to do. I also found that the kraft paper was too springy to hold the shape of the final 3D model, even with generous amounts of MC and wet shaping, and had to abandon ship at the step where you make the model 3D.
