Robert Lang - Fiddler Crab

Post by rackleyjl »

So it's the second model I've attempted from cp. The first was Satoshi's phoenix, but I had a little help with that. I think I've got the base right, but I don't know where to go from there. I'm not even sure which legs are which. Please help? I'll try to post a pic of my base when I get to a camera.

I think I'll try it, it seems "easy" to collapse.

Maybe I should try this as it looks like a challenge :D
I think I now what becomes what... But I won't know for sure unless I try...
I'll finish what I'm working on and then I'll attemp it

not really, if I knew which flap becomes what, I could totally fold it, the CP was very easy to collapse... :/

I haven't folded it, but locking at the cp, the only important thing when you managed collapsing is to make sure that all flaps on one side of the thick green line in the cp end up as legs or whatever on the same side of the crab. Since the legs have all the same length, it doesn't really matter which flap you use to fold which leg, but it would be intelligent to use the highest (nearest) layer of flaps to form the most back legs.
If you need more details, I'll have to fold it first.

Hope that helps and wasn't obvious to all of you...

Two of the leg flaps which you don't fold out at the sides of the body to form legs, one from each side. There should be enough flaps for this. Maybe middle flaps are easier to use here than border or corner flaps.

i am exactly at the place where where the base is flat. I can't distribute the flaps. Is that also your problem?
