Robert Lang - Model Topics - GRASSHOPPER (Insect and their K

Post by herbivor »

Hi,
I would like to ask you for your help with Lang´s GRASSHOPPER from his book Insect and their Kin: I am not able to go through the step 41 and 42 - it seems quite easy but I have never done the shape in step 43.
I know there are topics on grasshoppers but they are from different books (and so different diagramms)..
Can anyone help me with grasshopper from Insect and their Kin? [-o<
Thanks in advance......

If anyone can help me with steps 35-37 of the Cicada in Lang's book Insects and their Kin. I would greatly appreciate it. I seem to be having an issue with having an extra tip or something from the reverse folds in steps 34 and 35 to successfully complete step 36 and get to 37. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

That should be large enough for most (if not all) of the models in the book.

I was watching Robert J Lang's WIRED video from YouTube and he made 11 different kinds of cicadas. My level is right about ~2-3 and I was wondering that can I get instructions for level 2 Petal Fold Cicada and level 3 RJL's Simple Cicada?
I tried to search YouTube for it and also googled it. Even Robert's website didn't provide the answer.
I can wing the second one but the third model is too difficult without proper instructions.
And I also have 7 different origami books but only one with cicada instructions was Über origami by Duy Nguyen and his model was different.

Does anyone think Malakite shadow-fold paper would be good for Lang's chrysina beetle? I really want to fold it and I saw shadow-fold and thought it would work well.

Hi,

Did anybody try to collapse Lang's flying katydid?

https://langorigami.com/wp-content/uplo ... did_cp.pdf

Would very appreciate if you could advise on some points.
1. There are several coloured lines, how to define which one is a mountain or valley;
2. How to fold the intersection of red and green lines (like British flag)?

Thank you in advance.
